“Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
Cooperation
I’m committed to working with others towards a goal that will outlive me. I believe I can do nothing of any lasting value without being united with God and his people. We can do so much more together than we can alone. Unity is my highest value and I believe God calls us all to this. (John 15 and Romans 12)
Trust
I’m committed to trusting God first, while also believing the best in myself and others. I believe as we trust in the Lord he fills us with joy and peace. This then becomes our gift to the world as we overflow with his hope - not by our own power, but by his. (Romans 15:13)
Gratitude
I’m committed to seeing the best in my circumstances. I believe we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, therefore we praise God in all things. We choose thankfulness even when our situations would lead us to suffer. (Hebrews 12:28)
Compassion
I am committed to compassion. I believe in the glory, grace, and mercy of a God who came down from heaven to live among us and to die for us so we would not have to pay the penalty for our sins. I believe we are to become this kind of love for others. (Philippians 2:1-3)
Mindfulness
I’m committed to being here. Now. I believe it’s important to learn to respond rather than react as we face the trials of life. To accomplish this we must pause and pray continually and ask the Holy Spirit to be our guide. I’m very grateful that God is not too busy to be mindful of me and my needs. I believe this is a gift we get to give to ourselves and to others. (Hebrews 2:6)
Connection
I’m committed to connecting with people. There is power in being shoulder to shoulder as we are on this journey to becoming our best selves. God wired us for community. We are meant to carry each other’s burdens. (Galatians 6:2)
