Take a moment to notice...

Our world is so noisy

With so many voices and thoughts and opinions.

If I allow it, I'm tempted to think about and write about all kinds of important, practical things. 

To ask you to pay attention to your need for sunshine, education, or fresh air. 

But this moment, I feel the only thing necessary is to invite you to slow down your racing heart.

To invite you to breathe deeply...

and to remind you that your very personal God is at work on your behalf.

He's in that breath you're breathing, right now.

His love is in you and around you.

He's there.

In the sunshine that warms you.

He's there.

In the breeze that tickles your skin.

He's there.

In the gentle rain that cools you.

He's there.

In that text message you just received from a friend.

He's even there in your dirty dishes and unread emails

and unanswered questions.

And if you take a few moments to notice him here...

You'll find His love easier to hold onto, when you're there... 

in the inevitable difficulties of your day.

Lord, help us notice you today...

To see you in all the personal and practical ways you touch our lives and give us hope.

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
